The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) has been one of the best performing large-caps in the market over the past 12 months, up more than 20%. The reason for the strong share price? Trading and capital raising activity have been healthy over the period.

In the calendar year 2018, 132 new entities listed, compared to 143 in the calendar year 2017. Whilst that is a decrease, the overall capital raised in the calendar year 2018 totalled $98.9 billion, a huge increase on the $64.0 billion in calendar year 2017. The table below highlights the increase in activity in the back half of last year, until a big drop off in December.

The company is due to report interim results on February 14, at which time it is expected to show the highest revenue growth since FY10.
