The Budget

Spare a thought for all the journalists and financial analysts who spent the day stuck in the same room together yesterday during the Budget 2018 Lockup. What a way to spend a day.

We can’t compete with the thousands of write-ups today so let’s just cover the main points:

  • The good news is that they have pretty much left superannuation alone. Couple of small things. They have abolished superannuation fund exit fees. They have also increased the maximum number of SMSF members from 4 to 6. Can’t see any comments on Bill Shorten’s plan to remove tax refunds for imputation credits.
