When To Invest
When’s the Right Time to Invest?
A Message from Marcus:
One of the most common questions we hear from prospective investors in the Managed Strategy Portfolio (MSP) is: “Should I put money in now, or should I wait?” Being cautious about what might happen the day after you invest is completely natural – we’ve all felt it.
That’s why I’ve done a video to walk you through your options:
- You can invest straight away and trust us to manage the risks, including selling down if something negative materialises.
- You can open an account with our platform (OpenWealth) but hold off on funding it until you feel comfortable.
- You can wait until the next time we move to cash, then add funds knowing they’ll stay in cash until we decide it’s right to buy back in. Of course, that could be a while – we might not move to cash again for a long time.
The important thing is this: the future is always uncertain in the short term and there’s no single “right time” to invest. My team aren’t licensed to give you personal advice but the Managed Strategy Portfolio is designed specifically to time the market on your behalf, with a long-term horizon in mind.
Whichever path you choose should just be the one you feel most comfortable with. And if you’d prefer not to worry about timing at all, you can simply invest now and let us do the work for you.
