SOME OF THE MORE POPULAR ETFS
- VAS - Popular ASX 300 exposure.
- STW - Popular ASX 200 exposure.
- IVV - Tracks S&P 500 index.
- NDQ - Tracks the NASDAQ index.
- IOZ - ASX 200 Accumulation exposure. Any fund manager will tell you, this is hard to beat in a bull market.
- BEAR - Does the opposite of the ASX 200 Accumulation index.
- IOO - Tracks top 100 stocks globally.
- IVE - Tracks Europe.
- ATEC - Tracks the new ASX ALL TECHNOLOGY index - not a lot of interest yet - its new - but now might be the time.
- GOLD - Exposure to the Gold Price although I would prefer to play a gold view through gold stocks - much more bang to the buck. This one will bore you.

Some Member comments:
- Betashares QLTY - Only relatively new so more lightly traded, but growing. Based on an index not a managers brainstorm. The underlying index across quality global companies appears well constructed and details of it are available. Includes large global quality companies (150 stocks) and not just US companies or tech stocks. Performance is very good – midway between NDQ and the S&P500 index funds. Better in my opinion than the much larger global indexed ETFs.
- PMGOLD - I used to own GOLD. It should have a price that is 1/10 of an ounce of gold in A$. But it is always $10 less than this. I changed over to PMGOLD which is priced at exactly 1/100 of an ounce of gold in A$.
- A200 - Consider Betashares A200 compared with IOZ, STW and VAS. Lowest % fee at 0.7% (why pay more for the same thing). Set up so that there are none of those painful W-8BENE forms from the IRS to complete.
- I like MOAT - had a good run up last year. Unhedged so a bit hard to get into at a good price during the sell off, with the Aussie dollar falling as well.
